I’m feeling this one today, and I hope you do too. This song is a simple sad blues tune written originally by a blues man from Louisiana. This guy was serving a life sentence for murder when a couple of ethnomusicologists sprung him from prison for time served and because he had some good songs, including the track today. Which was covered on the debut album, Safe as Milk, from Captain Beefheart. (Not the Shadow). We all end up this way, age and time and hard living.
The Shadow is a bit more modern and done by an Ohio duo, and it comes off of an early album of theirs- where they make bouncy plastic.
