5 O’Clock Shadow- December 23rd

The original performers raised you, and one of them is from Baltimore. She was kind of the heart and soul of the group and she died in a cursed London flat that just four years later is where Keith Moon died. The song today wasn’t written by the performers, it was almost a standard by the time they got to it in 1968, but they made it their own and had the most commercial success with it than any other performer of the song before, or since.  And it’s kind of like a bed time lullaby.

The Shadow performer is celebrating his 49th birthday today and though he is synonymous with the city of Seattle, he is actually from Chicago and Sand Diego. And this solo album sounds more Hawaiian than anything else, since it’s centered around songs arranged on this little four string instrument.
