The original artist was a pop group from the Isle of Man. At their core, the group consisted of three brothers, only one of them is left, and today he turns 69 years old. So the song is perfectly appropriate, and even more so, since it’s used for the rhythm when being taught to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the 104 beats per minute are ideal.
Every one sings this song strutting down the street, and it’s been Shadowed hundreds of times; notably by Ozzy Osbourne, Les Claypool, and The Chipmunks. The Shadow artist today is an indie pop duo from LA. They are named after Little Rock, Annapolis, Boise, Albany, Carson City, Sacramento, Lansing . . . you get the idea.
The 5 O’clock Shadow is made possible by New Belgium Brewing.
