YOUNG AT HEART – Saturday, September 2

Today’s Adult Kid is Jack Black, an actor, musician and very funny guy with a body of work for both adults and kids. Musically, his comedic hard rock band Tenacious D, released three CDs, and Jack has recorded songs for the kid TV show Yo Gabba Gabba and starred in the movie School Of Rock, singing the title track.

For most kids, this is the last weekend before school starts, so today’s show is full of songs all about school. Some kids are super-excited to start or go back to school, others not so much. But this time of year is always a time of new beginnings and fresh starts, so here’s to a great new school year.

Maybe some of you got a chance to sail away somewhere over the summer, or maybe you’re wishing you could, instead of go back to school. Our Talking Tunes is Come Sail Away, but not the Styx version – Brian and Tom preferred Eric Cartman’s version from Southpark.

The new season of Saturday Morning Tunes starts up next Saturday, September 9th with Mr. Root and Max Bent doing a tribute to Schoolhouse Rock. Here’s Skee-Lo doing “The Tale of Mr. Morton.” Enjoy!
