If you’re stuck at home with the kids and looking to entertain them with something other than “Frozen 2” for the 12th time, we’ve got you covered. 

Saturday Morning Tunes Livestream Concerts bring stars of the kids music scene to your smartphone, laptop and TV Saturdays at 9 a.m. on the WTMD Facebook Page. They’re free, and sure to get your little ones dancing.

9 a.m. Saturday May 23: Grammy award winner Jon Samson

Jon Samson is the first board certified music therapist in history to receive a Grammy, and the first native South African to win for Best Children’s Album. Jon resides in Brooklyn, NY and founded CoCreative Music in 2005 where he offers a unique combination of music therapy, audio/video production, artistic mentoring and life coaching to inspire “The Child Archetype” in all ages.

9 a.m. Saturday May 30: bilingual kindie star Sonia De Los Santos

Sonia was nominated in 2019 for a Latin Grammy® with her second family music album titled ¡Alegría! and has been hailed by Billboard as “one of the Latin Children’s music artists you should know” and “Best Latin Children’s Music.” She has made numerous appearances as a singer and guitarist on TV shows like ABC’s “Good Morning America,” CBS’s “The Early Show,” and Sprout’s “The Sunny Side up Show,” and has performed with her band in renowned venues and festivals such as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, The Getty Museum, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and many more.

9 a.m. Saturday June 6: Jamaal “Mr. Root” Collier from Baby Beats
One half of the incredible beatboxing and hip-hop for kids group Baby Beats, Jamaal is a longtime friend of WTMD’s. He and his various bands have performed at several Saturday Morning Tunes shows, including the Schoolhouse Rock tribute and the “Moana” and “Lion King” Movie Soundtrack Shows. He’s a Young Audiences teaching artist and a father.
9 a.m. Saturday June 13: Josh Lovelace (of NEEDTOBREATHE)
Josh Lovelace, a member of the Grammy-nominated band NEEDTOBREATHE, took his first step into the family music scene with the album “Young Folk:” in 2017 after a life-long appreciation of children’s music. Now, a few more years into parenthood, he released his second kindie album, “Growing Up.” The album captures the amazing and complex feelings of being in a family, including the struggles of daily life and the importance of looking forward with positivity. With a soothing voice and nourishing lyrics, Lovelace taps into the earnest feelings of nostalgia from our own childhoods and how we collectively navigate it all.
